Has LG nailed it with their Gen Mode in ACs?

Countries like Nigeria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India (mostly Asian ones) have to face severe electricity issues every now and then due to several reasons of electrical output in the respective countries. LG has been keen enough to understand the requirements and devise a suitable formula for these conditions in order to overcome the electrical problems faced by the consumers in these regions.

Nigeria for one has much lesser power outs but the incoming power at homes is seen to be much lesser than the actual requirements for larger devices such as Air Conditioners and Washing Machines. LG has come up with a Gen Mode Technology in their appliances in order to cater these problems with ease and suit the consumers with proper working appliances. Power outages and low powers both have dire consequences on the appliances using them. Hence the Gen Mode looks to cater both of them accordingly. Here is how!

Since conventional ACs need larger power backups to start in order to be perfectly operational, these Air Conditioners only need a small amount of power for their start-ups and then take up power according to the supplied inputs. With Gen Mode on, the air conditioners become small power houses and with the technology off, work as normal machines present around now. The Gen Mode takes up lesser electrical power but also gives out 80% of its original cooling output.

For easier assistance in calculation of electrical supplies, the generators are quoted by LG itself to put us at ease. The 1HP AC only needs a 1.5KVA generator to power on and perform well with a longer durability; while the 1.5HP needs a 1.7KVA, and the 2HP requires 2.2KVA only.
