1 Introduction
Aflatoxins are highly toxic and carcinogenic metabolites produced by a variety of molds, mainly present in
the cereals, nuts, cottonseed and some products related to animal feeds. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1 for short) is
one kind of Aflatoxins, whose toxicity, carcinogenicity, contamination frequency are at the top. TLC has
been a commonly used method to detect Aflatoxin, but the sample preparation and analysis is
time-consuming and laborious. While AFB1 ELISA Kit can quickly and accurately analyze Aflatoxin B1
residues of samples.

2 Application
The kit is applied to the quantitative detection of Aflatoxin B1 in feed, cereals, edible oil, bread and
other samples.
3 Test principle
The Aflatoxin B1 in samples competitively bind specific antibodies against the Aflatoxin B1 antigen
coated onto polystyrene microwells. Secondary antibodies labeled enzyme can react with the antibody.
The addition of an enzyme substrate develops a blue colour in the presence of enzyme. A stop solution is
added which changes the chromogen colour from blue to yellow. The microwells are measured optically by
a microplate reader with an absorbance filter of **0nm. The intensity of the colour is inversely proportional
to the amount of Aflatoxin B1 in the standard or sample and the amount of Aflatoxin B1 in sample is
calculable.
