The raw materials for aluminum are dismantled at the port of BTB and put into each silo through a conveyor belt. Alumina in silo is then flowed to Dry Scrubber System to be reacted with HF gas from the reduction furnace to become Reacted Alumina (HF.Al2O3). Reacted Alumina is then taken to the Hopper Pot with Anode Changing Crane (ACC) and put into the reduction furnace.
Electric current used is **0 ***5 KA, with average voltage in each pot 4.3 Volt. In the reduction furnace, the alumina will be electrolyzed into molten aluminum, with the principle of Hall-Heroult method, co-found by Charles Hall in the USA and Paul Herlout in France in ***6. The process is the electrolysis of alumina (Al2O3) solution in Crystalline melt (Na3AlF6) at a temperature of **5 ± *0 oC, thus producing a liquid aluminum.
