GAIC is a big project with about 5,**0 hectare land in total, located in DakLak, Vietnam. Main business of GAIC is dairy industry and utilizes cow manure as biomass material to convert into electricity via anaerobic methane digestion, manure dregs will be used to produce organic fertilizer.
As a result of the potential environmental and economic benefits of on-farm methane generation, GAIC decides to installed anaerobic digesters to convert livestock manure into renewable energy products, specifically electricity. With approximately *5,**0 dairy cattle, this will be enough to run a biomass power plant and provides the electricity demanding for local. Also, the combustion of biogas displaces the use of fossil fuels for energy generation and, thus, contributes to additional emission reductions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and other air pollutants. For farms of GAIC project, converting livestock manure into renewable energy not only directly decreases odors but also potentially increases farm income through energy products, like electricity, and through byproducts from the anaerobic digesters, like solids used for animal bedding and composted soil amendments, and recovered heat from electricity generation used for heating water for milking parlors and building heat.
