Product Description

"EXPANDO" slitting system is useable for applications with many cuts and size changes. It has a tangential cut with the top holder connected to the bottom counterblade through an engaging piston.

The pneumatic knife holder is mounted on a linear rail with a ball bearing bracket.

The bracket has a manual clamp and the linear rail has dual pneumatic braking clamps.

The bottom knife assembly is mounted on a hardened and chromed, expandable shaft. When air is applied to the shaft, the bottom blades units are locked in place. The main feature of the "EXPANDO" bottom knife assembly is the easy replacement of the cutting edge called "EXPANDETTE". It's possible to replace the "EXPANDETTE" rings without shaft removal ever. This ring is made in HSS and has two cutting edges.

The "EXPANDO" system has three versions:

1. Manual positioning.
2. Semiautomatic positioning. A digital display sliding on a rail (manually operated) parallel to the bottom knife assemblies allows exact measurements to the pneumatically connected top and bottom units.
3. Automatic positioning. With web out displacement is achieved through single translator moving the engaged units.With web in, there are two translators, positioned by brushless motors. Operations are controlled through PC, installed on a command panel outside the system. Positioning accuracy for each group 0.2 mm (0.**8").

Note:The "EXPANDO" slitting system can be supplied complete with electro-pneumatic panels for shaft's motor drive and control of pneumatic functions.
