Product Description

China clay is a clay mineral, part of the group of industrial minerals, with the chemical composition Al2Si2O5(OH)4. It is a layered silicate mineral, with one tetrahedral sheet linked through oxygen atoms to one octahedral sheet of alumina octahedral. China clay is a processed mineral industry, which has experienced a phenomenal growth since its inception nearly three quarters of century ago. This processed mineral, due to its exceptional attributes has become a very important and indispensable ingredient in the innumerable articles of modern everyday life. Extraordinary whiteness and brightness near to those of the whitest known substance magnesium oxide, stability against extreme conditions of environment, Tenacity against most chemicals, non toxicity, high refractive index and therefore high opacity, relative ease of application, along with a number of merits collectively unique in China clay have caused virtually the elimination of other once popular white pigments like titanium dioxide, lithopone, zinc oxide, antimony oxide etc. from the market.
