Description:

Ceftiofur is a semisynthetic, third generation, broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic, which is administered to cattle for control of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, with additional action against foot rot and acute metritis in cattle.It has a wide spectrum of activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.It exerts its antibacterial action by inhibition of cell wall synthesis.Ceftiofuris mainly in urine and faeces.

Indications:

Itis indicated for treatment of the following bacterial diseases:

Cattle:For the treatment of bacterial respiratory disease associated with Pasteurella haemolytica (Mannheimia spp.) Pasteurella multocida and Haemophilus somnus.For the treatment of acute interdigital necrobacillosis (panaritium, foot rot), associated with Fuscobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus (Porphyromonas asaccharolytica).For treatment of the bacterial component of acute post-partum (puerperal) metritis within *0 days after calving associated with Escherichia coli, arcanobacterium pyogenes and Fusobacterium necrophorum, sensitive to ceftiofur.

Side Effects:

Hypersensitivity reactions.

Administration andDosage:

For subcutaneously administration.

Cattle:

Bacterial respiratory infections: 1 ml per *0 kg body weight for **5 days.

Acute interdigital necrobacillosis: 1 ml per *0 kg body weight for 3 days.

Acute metritis (***0 days post partum): 1 ml per *0 kg body weight for 5 days.

Shake well before use and do not administer more than *5 ml in cattle per injection site.Successive injections should be administered at different sites.

Withdrawal Times:

For meat: *1 days.

For milk: 3 days.

Storage:

Storebelow *5ºC,in a cool and dry place, and protect from light.
