Portland cement is the most common type of cement in general usage, as it is a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, and most non-specialty grout. Ready mixed concrete, by far the most common form of concrete, accounts for nearly three-fourths of all concrete. Ready mixed refers to concrete that is batched for delivery from a central plant instead of being mixed on the job site. Each batch of ready mixed concrete is tailor-made according to the specifics of the contractor and is delivered to the contractor in a plastic condition, usually in the cylindrical trucks often known as "cement mixers." By using readily available and transportable components this house is affordable, quick to construct, and doesn�t rely on highly specialised skilled labour. Concrete is a robust and durable material requiring very little maintenance.
