The combination of different refractory fibres, inorganic and organic binders in different proportions allows types of boards to be made suitable for different use temperatures. In some types of heating equipment the emission of fumes, which can occur when binders burn out of the board, can be easily eliminated. vacuum formed products are a rigid selfsupporting fiber insulation manufactured from a slurry consisting of ceramic fibers and binders. Ceramic Fiber products have the capability to withstand chemical attack. Exceptions include hydrofluoric acid, hosphoric acid, and strong alkalies. A small amount of combustible binder will burn out at approximately **5 °C. Additional hardness and strength can be achieved with post treatments.
