As to the traditional filtrating materials of quartz sand, granite, and anthracite, there are many drawbacks, for example, lower porosity, smaller specific surface areas, worse capacity of the pollutants entrapment, lower output, and unstable water quality etc. In addition, the filtration period is longer and the serviceable lifetime is shorter. It is hard to meet the needs of the industrial wasting waters treatment, in which contains all sorts of complicated compositions, and the deep treatment of the municipal water which becomes seriously polluted day by day and the industrial wasting water. The novel filtration materials were prepared by adopting the excellent kaolin, pore-forming material, anticorrosive of the rare earth, through ignition under high temperature. Its outward appearance is white and hard, its particles are uniform, its micro-pore pores are flourishing, its porosity is larger and there is well circularity. This filtration material has been utilized to treat all sorts of the wasting waters in many enterprises among such varied industrial fields as, medicine, chemical industry, petroleum, electricity, electrical coating, paper making, and distiller. It exists many merits for this product as follows: There is little loss of the initial pressure head for the filtration bed of the porcelain sand, which is beneficial to prolong the working period of filtrating pond. At the same time, there is smaller loss of the end pressure head, which can cut down the height of the filtrating pond and save the expense of construction; There is much larger capacity of the pollutants entrapment for the porcelain sand, in general, it is in 9~*0kg/m3.
