Certified organic Prickly Pear Seed oil

Its botanical name is Opuntia Ficus Indica, but here at Fatimas Garden, we call it Argan Oil… on steroids. The plant grows naturally (without human intervention or fertilizers), in the wild is semi-arid areas of Morocco. It has an incredible ability to survive in really dry areas with no access to water during a long period of time without impacting the quality of its fruits. These fruits contain many small dark seeds. that are separated from the rest of the fruit, dried, cold pressed to finally obtain the Prickly pear seed oil. It is a very labour intensive process and the large amount of Cactus trees needed to obtain one liter of this oil makes it one of the most expensive oils in the world.

The production of 1 liter prickly pear seed oil takes :

• about 1 million prickly pear seeds
• *6 hours of manual labor
• Half a ton of prickly pear fruits.

But its benefits are totally worth the labor. Prickly pear seed oil does everything argan oil does, but does it better. This is due to its richer composition in anti-aging elements. This oil is also known as Barbary fig seed oil, Indian fig seed oil, and prickly cactus seed oil.

Prickly pear is extremely high in essential fatty acids, (linoleic acid) Omega 6 and 9, and the natural antioxidant contained in Tocopherols :  Vitamin E. Its also rich in amino acids, which stimulate collagen production to promote faster cell regeneration. Last but not least, it also contains Zinc and vitamin K, which lightens under-eye dark circles and also reactivates the skins elasticity. Prickly pear seed oil contains**0% of the Tocopherols (vitamin E) found in argan oil. It stimulate new cell generation, calm inflammation (thanks to its flavonoids) and protects skin against UV damage and free radicals. Prickly pear seed oil is light and has a light scent reminiscent of wet hay. It absorbs well and is very moisturizing to skin cells .
