Camellia sinensis (the tea
plant) is consistently described as being a potent medicine for
promoting good health and longevity, as well as keeping the mind
alert and sharp and treating many ailments, from indigestion to
the common cold.
Black Tea
Black tea grading - Black tea is
usually graded on one of four scales of quality.

Whole leaf teas - are the highest
quality, with the best whole leaf teas graded as "orange
pekoe".

Broken leaves - are commonly sold as
medium grade loose teas. Smaller broken varieties may be included
in tea bags.

Fannings - are usually small
particles of tea left over from the production of larger tea
varieties, but are occasionally manufactured specifically for use
in bagged teas.

Dusts - are the finest particles of
tea left over from production of the above varieties, and are
often used for tea bags with very fast, very harsh brews.
Green Tea
Green tea is made from Camellia
sinensis leaves, that have not undergone the same withering and
oxidation applied when processing Camellia sinensis into oolong
tea and black tea.

The High Growns, above ****-ft sea level, on the other hand are
known for their bright, coloury, brisk and aromatic liquors. High
grown Ceylon teas do not share the dense, black colour of the
quality low grown leaf being browner in leaf appearance, but have
unsurpassed liquors ranging from light, bright golden colour to
deep red.
