A CNC router moves & cuts in three directions.
the X-axis is usually the longest & runs from front to back.
the Y-axis goes from left to right & the Z-axis up & down.

Once the design is ready, the material must be placed on the mechanical base. The motors moves the axis back & forth on a separate device called a Gantry to make the cuts. Spindle provide the cutting power by spinning the router bits. CNC bits are similar to drill bits & come in many different sizes & types.

The main benefit of CNC router is automation. Quality & quantity of products are both multiplied & the need for manual supervision of so many small, menial tasks is eliminated. Labour costs are reduced, since you need far fewer people to work on a project. You need skilled employee to handle the router. Using CNC router reduces waste by making the most efficient use of wood or other raw material.
