Coco Peat, also known as Coir Pith or Coir dust is the bi-product
obtained during the extraction of coco fibre from coconut
husk.
After the cocopeat is collected, it is then sieved
further in order to remove excess fibre and chunks of
coconut husk in the medium. The
cocopeat is then washed to remove elements such as Potassium,
Sodium and Chloride which are freely soluble in water. By this
process the salt content is reduced hence bringing down the EC to
a desired level. It
is then dried, screened and graded(based on granularity)
after which it is compressed into blocks, briquettes, bales
or discs.
