The standard blind break-mandreal rivet consists of two components,
a rivet body and mandrel. The body is deformed when the rivet is
set and it is this part whitch clamps the materials together. The
mandrel is therfore always stronger than the body. When materials
are clamped together in a correct way, the mandrel breaks off at
it's specific breaking point at the right moment.
Closed-end blind rivets and their advantages:
Closed-end blind rivets offer higher shear and tensile strengths,
good vibration resistance, **0% mandrel ball retention and a water
resistant seak when installed in a defect-free hole.
