Chlorinated polyethylene(CPE) is a kind of modified chlorinated polymer which is produced with chlorinated high density polyethylene. Its chlorine content is generally controlled i the range of *0% to *0%(mass fraction). The apprance of the product is white powder or granules, decomposed above **0°C, similar to the rubber. It is Non-toxic, tasteless, with excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, chemical resistance, anti-aging properties, oil resistance, flame retardanccy and coloring performance. It has good toughness (in **0°C still malleable). and good compatibility to polymer materials. It is decomposed at high temperature, creating HCL which can catalyza the CPE.
Application
According to the structure and purple, chlorinated polyethylene is divided to two kinds, categories of resin chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) and elastomeric chlorinated polyethylene (CM). It can be used not alone but also with resins like polyvinylchloride (PVC), polyethylene(PE), polypropylene(PS), ABS, or even polyurethane(PU). In the rubber industry, CPE can be sued as a high-performance, high-quality a special rubber, and also can be used with other rubbers like ethylene-propylene rubber(EPR), butyl rubber(IIR), nitrile rubber(NBR), chlorosulfonated polyethylene(CSM).
