of D-limonene: D-limonene is a colourless liquid hydrocarbon classified as a cyclic terpene. The more common D isomer possesses a strong smell of oranges. Suggested Application of D-limonene: 1)D-limonene is used in chemical synthesis as a precursor to carvone and as a renewably based solvent in cleaning products. 2)D-limonene is used as a perfumery composition for soaps, personal care products and cosmetics. 3)D-limonene is used as an intermediate for terpene resins, carvone, terylene, and rubber chemicals. 4)D-limonene is used as an oils dispersant, metal dryer. 5)D-limonene is used as a substitute for chlorinated solvents in degreasing metals for cleaning in the electronic industry and the printing industry while it can also be used as starting material for the synthesis of terpene resin. alpha-Limonene has been used as a gallstone solubilizer in pharmaceutical industry. |
