DDP has the same molecular weight and molecular formula as DIDP. Like DIDP, DDP has low toxicity and can be used in some food contact materials. Its linear carbon chains are different from the branched carbon chains of DIDP, thus, DDP offers lower volatility, better high and low temperature properties than DIDP. Besides, its specific gravity is lower than DOP. Therefore, it is excellent substitute for DIDP, DINP and DOP in flexible vinyl products.

Applications:

• Good compatibility with cellulose nitrate, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl chloride, ethylcellulose resins and major polymers.
• Used with polyurethanes or polyacrylates in coating, sealants and mastric applications.
• Soluble in most solvents.
• Used as hydraulic fluid.
• Used as dielectric fluid in capacitors.
• Can be blended with other plasticizers.
• Used as insulation for *0°C to *0°C wires and cables.
• Blends with trimellitate or other large molecular weight plasticizers for *0°C wires and cables.
• Used to produce plastic, leather and many vinyl consumer products.
