plant nutrient calcium. Dry Oyster shells are source of calcium
that feed egg layer, broiler layer and turkey breeder feed rations.
The main purpose is to build strong egg shells and develop strong
bones and reduce bone fragility in poultry and for being humans.
Hens fed oyster shells have been shown to reduce total manure
moisture and improve fly control. Additional uses include,
landscaping, potting plants, ( great for tomatoes) and mix with
bird seeds to attract wild birds. No detrimental impurities to harm
eggshell quality. Oyster shells are carefully harvested and then
ground into small, medium, and coarse particles, also powdered.
These irregular shapes provide a sustained release of this valuable
nutrient. Oyster shells also aids in improving structure of soils,
bone building optimum tilth.
