The AW****0 IDUT is a broadband MMDS transmitter with a channel capacity up to *1 television channels or **0 digital chan- nels (*4QAM modulation). The transmit- ter incorporates traditional Cable AML reliability and advanced design features. The AW****0 IDUT is designed to provide cost-effective coverage over a wide area. With an omnidirectional transmit antenna it can cover an area of approximately *5 Kilometer radius when fully loaded with *1 channels, or, a *2 Km radius when loaded with *5 channels. A larger area can be covered if the desired coverage is less than **0 degrees in azimuth. The is a broadband signal in the ******0 MHz range. The output is in the 2.**2.7 GHz range. As in all broadband transmitters, the output power depends on the number of channels. For example, with a *2 channel load the transmitter delivers **0mW per channel with a C/CTB of better than *0 dB (measured with CW carriers), or approximately **0mW per channel (peak power). The transmitter is very easy to install and operate. It's compact design requires only *2.*5 inches (*1.2 cm) height in a stan- dard *9 inch (*8.3 cm.) wide rack or cabinet. It is designed to operate indoors without air conditioning requirements. The transmitter features a modular design for ease of maintenance and service. The key modules are the *2 VDC power sup- ply, driver, power amplifier and diagnostic circuits. Two optional features are offered: (a) output monitoring at VHF frequencies and (b) a low-noise local oscillator with external reference locking capability.
