The Karoistanbul tiles are entirely handmade. They are composed of white marble powder, high quality cement, marble or granite granulates, natural colourings and pure silica sand, under a high pressure. They have a great hardiness and until then unequalled easy upkeep. The encaustic process emloyed in their creation has rendered these tiles extremely durable and long lived. The reason for the longevity and continued beauty and brightness of the tiles is the encaustic process itself , one of inlaid color rather then applied color, which places the complex patterns of individual cement tiles to a depths of up to **7 mm into the very body of the tile. ‘Karoistanbul’ offers you a choice of a lot of plain colours and patterns and friezes, which allow you to create at will an infinity of floral styles, geometrical styles, art noveau or art deco.
