Knitted wire, compacted to create compressed elements, is used in a variety of industries for vibration damping, sound attenuation, heat transfer and high performance sealing. 

Knitted wire mesh spacer rings and cushion pipes are situated between the inner and outer pipe acting as a bearing surface, maintaining a constant gap through changes in thermal expansion whilst absorbing and reducing vibration.

Air-Gap Spacers ,Air-Gap Spacers are co
mpressed, knitted wire mesh elements inserted between the pipes to cushion them from shock and vibration as well as to absorb any thermal expansion differences between them.

Operational stresses such as thermal expansion, vibrations and engine torque make exhaust system connections very susceptible to leaks which are stopped by  knitted wire mesh flex-joint seals .
