A safety device to protect a person from falling debris. Used when a protective platform needs to be erected remotely. Anextension of its use is as an elevated platform in a *-sided vessel. Modern OH&S requirements for furnace inpsection require the furnace to be made safe from falling debris PRIOR to a workman entering the vessel. The fallstop platform is designed to negate the problem. When the vessel or the internal parts, heat exchanger piping or other internal equipment need servicing the fallstop platform is remotely inserted and secured. It is then deemed safe enough for a second tier of safety deck to be erected above the required work areas. The fallstop platform is a revolutionary device designed to meet these requirements. This safety device is designed to protect a workman from falling debris in a large furnace vessel. The falling debris is usually loosened refractory lining from a furnace wall or ceiling. This device is designed to be remotely inserted into a furnace vessel when physical human inspection of the refractory lining or repairs are required.
