Used in the petrochemical, offshore oil, power generation, chemical and process control instrumentation industries. High pressure or vacuum, corrosive or hazardous media and high/low temperatures. Comprising four precision machined parts - body, nut, back and front ferrule - they interact as: 1. Leak-tight seal is achieved through action of tightening the nut on the body 2. Geometric rotation of the nut provides the axial thrust required to compress the captively-held ferrules against the O.D of the tube 3. The staged swaging action of the ferrules during compression phase provides Bi-Lok's sealing superiority 4. Front ferrule, as urged forward against the tapered area of the body is forced inward, gripping and sealing the leading edge tightly onto the tubing. Simultaneously the back ferrule dovetailing directly behind the front ferrule, swages beneath its trailing edge affording the desired "coining" action and mechanical connection of tubing and fitting. 5. This interaction of ferrules allows Bi-Lok excellent sealing capabilities from cryogenic to steam vacuum to high pressures Assembly Instructions 1. Cut tubing square and remove all burrs 2. Insert tube into Bi-Lok fitting ensuring that tube rests firmly against tube stop in fitting. Bi-Lok fittings are supplied fully assembled and there is no need to disassemble fitting to insert the tube. If fitting is dissembled it is important that the ferrules be reassembled in correct sequence as shown in diagram 1 3. Tighten nut by hand until finger tight 4. Using an appropriate spanner tighten nut another 3/4 turn on sizes 1/*6 to 3/*6, or 1 1/4 turns for sizes 1/4 to 1"
