Pineapples for export are cut with a knife to leave a sizeable stalk, about an inch and then brushed before parking. Normally, we grade them according to color and size and normally pineapples of **2.5kg wt are packed in cartoon boxes, 6 pineapples per box in an upright position. Other factors we consider are skin coloration, absence of defects, maturity, firmness, and well cured broken stem. We don’t cover the pineapples, boxes have holes for air-ration.
