Hioneer garnet abrasives are mined and processed as per international advanced standard processing flow. Hioneer garnet consists of totally natural almandite garnet which is harder, safer (free of silica), more durable and cost-effective than other blasting media such as silica sand, mineral slags and steel grits and shot. Furthermore, garnet can be recycled several times depending on the application because of its superior toughness and low friability. Hioneer garnet is the idea abrasive of choice for a wide variety of abrasive blasting applications around the world. Hioneer garnet provides a perfect distribution of grain size, density and hardness/durability. This ensures optimum abrasive efficiency in terms of lowest abrasive consumption and highest production rates at safe environmental and health conditions. Hioneer Garnet is free of metallic iron, making it suitable for all areas of surface preparation including stainless steel, anti-magnetic steel and all special alloys. Special fine grades are also available for aluminium, turbine blades, fibreglass and other specialist surface preparation applications. We provide a wide range of garnet abrasives for sand blasting which are available in the following sizes: (1) 8/*2, (2) *2/*0, (3) *0/*0, (4) *0/*0, (5) #*0. Coarser grades are usually to remove thicker and more adherent coatings, fine usually being used to remove thin or sensitive surfaces.
