UDM-30 series hydrostatic level transmitter

UDM-30 series level transmitter manufactured by theinternational advanced sensing diaphragm,coupledwith the company's three patented structure.It is mainly used in petrochemicalindustry,mine, boiler, environmental protection, watertreatment industry. It is mainly for level measurement ofwater, chemical solution, slurryand crude oil underatmospheric pressure.

The transmitter is composed by the measuring probe, junction box and fixed connections.
There are silicon pressure sensitive component in the probe. Because of the silicon micro-machining, laser trimming, wafer bonding and other high technology applications, the sensor has good linearity, temperature stability and high precision. Silicon sensitive component is packaged by the isolation diaphragm. It detect the liquid pressure and the upper atmospheric pressure ΔP = ρHg. ρ is the liquid density, H is the liquid height. H = ΔP / ρg, measured ΔP, given ρ , g, you can get the liquid level height.
The silicon pressure sensor transmit liquid level to mV signal. Then sent to the module junction box of the electronic unit. It is amplified and linearized into 4 ~ 20mA constant current standard signal. Adjust the external wiring of the module can complete the range change, zero migration, three-wire and four-wire transmission. The module has the protection of over current (around 28mA).

For fastening the cable use cable mounting wedge clamp that provides a solution for hanging the cable without slipping and risk of rupture.
STEPS OF INSTALLATION
− Feed the special cable through the glands, arrange proper length of cable and fasten the cable with the glands.
− Excessive cable parts has to be wound on a pipe with a min. diameter of 100 mm.
The special cable must not be cut short!
− Let the probe down to the lowest possible point, as only the height of the liquid above the probe will be measured.
For connecting the special breathing cable and the signal cable use the cable terminal box (with IP65), that accommodates the cable end in an ambience free of dust and humidity. Fasten the cable
termminal box to a plain surface. In open air or industrial applications the transmitter should be protected against transient surges / overvoltage.
The GND must be connected with the shortest possible wire to the protecting ground. In this case it is suggested the terminal box is installed close to the location of the measurement.
At the opposite end of the cabling the use of an additional over-voltage protection is advised close to the processing unit.

The Ex type hydrostatic level transmitter must be operated in intrinsically safe circuit only.
The metal housing of the device must be connected to the EP network using the connection cable marked with 1.

Calibration
Open the bottom case of the housing box, there are 2 calibration potentiometers, one is for Zero set potentiometer (Z) and another for Full scale set potentiometer (S). When the probe in the air, adjust the zero potentiometer to set the output current to 4mA. When put the probe in full scale liquid level, adjust the full scale potentiometer to set the output current to 20mA.
