Inconel 718

Product Description
Inconel **8 is a high strength nickel base superalloy used for cryogenic temperatures up to long term service at ***0°F. The alloy is readily fabricated and may be welded in either the annealed or precipitation (age) hardened condition.

Other Information
Inconel **8 should be used in the aged condition for stability of mechanical properties. Two standard heat treat conditions exist, AMS ***2 and AMS ***4. AMS ***2 is the standard lower temperature solution treat and offers slightly more strength. The latter, AMS ***4, specifies a higher solution treating temperature which when subsequently age-hardened provides enhanced ductility and fracture toughness. The latter is commonly specified in naval applications.
