Galvanized steel

Galvanized steel is steel with a surface that has been created by hot-dipping into zinc to form a thin layer of zinc alloy. This layer is resistant to corrosion and can be paintable. The hot-dipping process forms a relatively thick, but less formable, protective layer. Such a steel is useful in outdoor applications such as home air conditioners. Electro Galvanized steel is similar, but produced by electrolytically depositing the zinc coating with better control and uniformity of the zinc thickness. Thus, these types of steel are more widely employed by the automotive industry since the zinc coating is more formable.

Seamless pipe
 

Seamless (SMLS) Steel Pipe is made from a solid round steel billet which is heated and pushed or pulled over a form until the steel is shaped into a hollow tube. Seamless steel pipes comes in all kinds of sizes including thin, small, precise, slender and other special pipes and are used for steam boilers and pipelines, installations with high and supercritical steam conditions. Cold rolling increases the strength and hardness and decreases ductility of steel by rolling it at ambient temperature (or below its recrystallization temperature). In addition to improvement of mechanical properties, the cold rolling produces steel plate/sheet of the desired physical dimensions. Steel may be annealed subsequent to the cold rolling process to restore the original mechanical attributes. Even with multiple passes through rollers, cold rolling is more limited in its ability to effect dimensional changes (versus hot rolling) because of the increased hardness and decreased ductility.

Pre-painted steel is widely used in construction, household electric appliances, transportation, shipbuilding, aerospace and other industries. Examples of such applications may include resistance to hard particles grinding under a surface sliding over the top of the steel surface, or resistance to impact from rocks and other hard and heavy materials, or resistance to high velocity abrasive dust and other particles.
