Turmeric is a rhizomatous herbaceous plants botanically know as Curcuma longa. The tuberous rhizomes or underground stems of turmeric are used from antiquity as condiments, a dye and as an aromatic stimulant in several medicines. Turmeric is a very important spice in India.
