short circuit tester provides unique test method to measure the
safety distance between positive plate and negative plate
duringassembly process. Short
circuit can be
dectectd duringassembly
process before charge so
that battery quality can be highly upgraded and loss from returned
batteries caused by short circuit can be greatly
lowered.Traditional
high-voltage AC can also detect the problem by dielectrics test,
but this way will easily damage the humid battery parts for the
hotness.In order to
overcome this limitation, Jinfan researched and developed a special
tester for dielectrics test which can produce high voltage with
short test time, thus average energy can be greatly saved and high
voltage can be produced so that current can break down places with
defects.Thistechnology can
reliably detect battery with short circuit but will not cause
damages to battery for the hotness.
Tester can
have peak output of DC ***0V to meet requirements of different
plates.Durable
solid-state switch guarantees stability
forfrequent operations, digital meter can display

This tester is used to
testseparator insulation of each single cell and judge
if a battery is qualified or not.
The maximum
output voltage is ***0(adjustable and displayed
byvoltmeter, which
is nota sine curved wave,the
tester can generate ahigh voltage and a high current pulse which
can last for a short time**5, when the power is of *0hz, it
will generate *0 pulses per second,*0pulses per second for *0Hz,

二、Principle of the
tester
(1)Note:the tester
has a three-pin plug(with grounding wire), it has been connected to
a adaptable socket, otherwise it has to be grounded with an extra
wire(from back—PE.
(2)After
receiving the tester, carefully unpack the package and inspect
anyhiding defect.Togetherwith
the tester,there are quality
certificate, operation manual, test lead, power
line.To effectively check the operation
of the tester and adjust the voltage to be 0, connect it with
single phase power supply, connect red test lead with high
voltage+ and
black test lead with high voltage -,switch on the power
supply.
For Voltage adjustment there should
be values on the voltmeter, rotate the voltage knob, the value will
become bigger, until the value reaches between ********0V, usually
small-capacity battery will use this voltage for the
test.Customers can also adjust the value
accordingtheir requirement.With
the setting ofbalance, quality meter will display a
value,which is possibly positive or
negative, anyway, rotate knob ofbalance to adjust the value to be
nearly **0. for voltage ***0 or ****0V, also adjust this way when
changing testing voltage.
(3)Make
the red test lead short circuit with the black test lead, then
operateset knob
clockwise slowly, when you hear the ringing for the first time,
this value is just the maximum insulation resistance ,namely the
lowest sensitivity,counterclockwise rotate
the knob to set the sensitivity according your specific
requirement, but influence brought by some other factors such as
batterychange or
moisture should be allowed,if the testing happens under low
moisture level, adjust the insulation resistance to be a little
bigger, namely lower sensitivity, otherwise, higher sensitivity for
the testing.
(4)connect
the 2 test leads with cell(ignoring positive
or negative),a spark will appear even for
qualified cell when the leads touch it, which is just normal
phenomenon.
(5)if
everything is normal, readings onthe voltmeter and quality meter
will also change, which is also quite
normal.The
tester will alarm (ringing) for metal particles on the plates,
burrs, big holes inseparators,
sunken and broken plates and disorderlyarrangement of
plates.
(6)ordinary
high-voltage tester will damage insulation layer for the fact that
it generates many high-voltage pulses per time, which will make the
insulation layer become hot easily and burn separators, differently
,*****3.0 tester only release single
interval high-voltage pulse, it can provide enough time for the
separator to dispense heat, thus the separators will not be
punctuated.
(8)the
most difficult to found out are plate
holes,cracks, all other defects can be
figured out.
(9)some
times the battery plates have been formed(plates are electricity
conductive), sometimes have not(plates not electricity conductive)
, for the latter, the test will be difficult, because the defect
has to exist somewhere between positive plate and negative
one,if the plates are not electricity
conductive, there will be no spark caused by short circuit, so the
short circuit will not be found out.
(*0)the
tester will not test a single plate, it only test between a
positive one and a negative one.
三、safety and
maintenance:
(1)This
test has to be grounded,training to
the operator is also very
important and effective, which canto the maximum improve the safety
and test accuracy.
(2)each shift has to
regulate the test at least one time
(3)check test leads everyday
to guarantee no damages

battery is tested by tesing terminals, the lower this displayed
value is, the worse the battery quality is. It is between

qualified reference value from good batteries.and record the
quality value of each battery.
For
example
The quality value of the *0
qualified batteries are : ***0, ***5, ***0, ***5, ***1, ***0, ***5, ***5,***8, ***7。amongh them, the maximum value

higher than***1,like,***5。The actual setting can be nearer to
***1, but reasonable tolerane and moisture should be taken into
consideration., If quality value reachs or exceeds the preset
scale(Trip level), the tester will give alarm.
