Intended Use
Tetrodotoxin Immunoaffinity Column with HPLC is a quantitative
method for the detection of terodotoxin in aquatic samples. Samples
are purified by the Column before quantititated by high performance
liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Principle
The detection is based on antigen-antibody reaction. The antibody
is bound in the column.
A representative sample of the commodity to be analyzed is
extracted with a suitable solvent. The filtered extract is passed
through the Immunoaffinity columns. Any tetrodotoxin present in the
sample is bound to the antibodies within the columns. The column is
then washed and the toxins are released from the column using an
appropriate eluent. Finally, the eluent is evaporated,
reconstituted in mobile phase and for example analyzed by
HPLC-UV.
