Flux Basicity, according to Boniszewski: 0.6 approx.
Applications: In fillet welding for heavy duty & thick structural
steels in boiler making, seam welding in line
pipe steels, penstocks, fabrication of bridges,
panel welding of ships, automobile wheel rims,
compressor tanks, LPG bullet tankers, large
storage tanks, etc. This flux can be used for a
wide variety of applications especially for
mild/plain carbon steels with travel speeds from
as low as 0.2m/min to as high as 2.0 m/min.
Also for use in *-pass long-seam welded
LPG/DA cylinder/bottles.
Flux characteristics: An agglomerated alumina-rutile type flux that
produces a shiny bead with no undercut and a
self-peeling slag. Suitable for large fillets and
butt-welded joints. Rusted or contaminated
surfaces should be cleaned before welding.
Slight Si and Mn pick up in weld metal.
Usability: Up to 1,**0 A max. Polarity: AC/DC
Voltage: *6 – *0 V
Applicable for single/multi pass welds.
Mainly for use with EL8, EL*2, EM*2, EM*2K &
EH**4 unalloyed wires.

Flux particle size: *2 x *2 mesh (B.S.), or any other size to suit
