MGIT presents ETC based Solar Water heaters.

·        Most vacuum tube collectors use heat pipes for their core instead of passing heat directly through them.

·        Evacuated heat pipe tubes (EHPT’s) are composed of multiple evacuated glass tubes each containing an absorber flat plate to a heat pipe.

·        The heat from the cold end of the heat pipes is transferred to the transfer fluid of a domestic hot water or hydronic space heating system in a heat exchanger which is wrapped in insulation and covered by a sheet metal or plastic case to protect it from the elements.

·        The vacuum that surrounds the outside of the tube generally reduces convection and conduction heat loss to the outside.

Thermosiphon Based ETC Solar Water Heater

·        Thermosiphon refers to a method of passive heat exchange based on natural convection which circulates liquid without the necessity of a mechanical pump.

·        This circulation can either be open-loop as well as when liquid in a holding tank is passed in one direction via a heat transfer tube mounted at the bottom of the tank to distribution point – even one mounted above the originating tank, or it can be a vertical closed loop circuit with return to the original vessel.

·        Its purpose is to simplify the pumping of liquid and / or heat transfer, by avoiding the cost and complexity of a conventional mechanical pump.
