SK MOTORCYCLE CHAIN HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS: Drive chain is an important part for motorcycle driving. To ensure safe drive, you are kindly required to peruse and observe your motorcycle manual and the following instructions. 1. Be sure to consult your distributor/ local dealer, or to check with SK chain catalog or selector whether this chain and connecting link are applicable for your motorcycle. Improper selection and use may cause serious damage or injury. 2. Cut the old chain at its joint part. In case of endless or riveted connecting link, use SK MC chain cutter or similar cutting tool. 3. Fit the new chain to the end of the old one, using a new connecting link. By turning the rear wheel, the new chain will come in position.(Fig.A) 4. When replacing a chain, connect both ends of the new chain with a new connecting link. We recommend you to lubricate the new connecting link.( Fig.B) For clip type connecting link, the open end of the clip must be set opposite the chain drive direction. (*****) 5. For chain adjustment, follow the maker’s recommendation in owner’s manual. Standard chain sag is *0~*5mm. (Fig.D) 1. Cleaning and Lubrication: External lubrication every **0km (**0miles) prevent surface rust and ensure the performance. Before lubrication, clean a chain by wiping with kerosene and dry it sufficiently. Never use steam, thinner, or such volatile solvents as gasoline or benzene. (*****, F) 2. TIME of REPLACEMENT: Bruises, rust, or stiffness may cause chain to break. When finding these conditions, excessive elongation, or abnormal noise in use, please replace the chain and sprockets at the same time. 3. battery liquid/ Anti-frozen materials: When battery (acid) liquid puts on al chain, that causes chain breakage, so replace the whole chain with new one. Be sure to clean the chain when contacted with anti-frozen materials like rock salt. (*****) SK motorcycle chains undergo many quality controls during manufacture. Except faulty materials and workmanship, the following are excluded from our responsibility; normal wear, incorrect fitting, poor maintenance, any alteration of a motorcycle, or racing use.
