Known as the Third Generation of Rare Earth magnets, Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) magnets are the most powerful and advanced commercialized permanent magnets today. Sintered NdFeB offers the highest magnetic properties (*3 MGOe to *1 MGOe). Neodymium magnets offer the best value when comparing performance, size and cost. They are moderate in price, very strong magnetically, and typically allow for dimensional reductions. They have poor resistance to corrosion and should have a coating or plating applied. Neodymium Iron Boron has good resistance to external demagnetization fields because of its high Intrinsic Coercive Force (Hci). This resistance makes Neodymium magnets an excellent choice for electromechanical applications. Characteristic of Sintered NdFeB: 1. Neodymium magnets are hard, brittle and easily corrode. 2. Neodymium magnets lose *0.*9 ~ *0.*3% of Br/°C. They are working stability under *0°C for low Hci and can reach **0°C highest working temperature for high Hci. 3. Excellent strength value. The highest (BH)max reaches up to *2MGOe . 4. Strip casting and HDDR technology allows us to make high performance NdFeB over N*2 possible. 5. Surface treatments have been developed that allow them to be used in most applications. The treatments include gold, nickel, zinc and tin plating and epoxy resin coating. 6.
