Wooden Shirodhara Stand (Medicated oil stand) is used to pour medicated oil from a hanging pot to the forehead of the patient lying on top of the massage table (dhroni). This is part of ayurvedic panchakarma treatment. The shirodhara stand is made from medicinal wood such as Venga, Neem or Anjali and is carved aesthetically and decorated with brass bands to add charm to the treatment room. The pot will generally be of either copper or white bronze (with valve or wick). Pot with valve is easier to control the flow of oil.
