Product Description

Turkey is the leading producer and exporter of hazelnuts worldwide, ****5% of world demand is provided from the Black Sea region. Hazelnut fields, widely spread in the Black Sea coast of Turkey, have been located within *0 km from the coast towards inland. In the western Black Sea, it starts from the city Zonguldak and extends to the east over the entire Black Sea like a green strip lying between the sea and the mountains almost to the Georgian border.
Turkey has a distinguished place among the other hazelnut producer countries in the world, thanks to its high quality, and maintains its leading position in production and exports.

Categories of Turkish Hazelnuts:
Quality falls into two groups: Giresun and Levant, names according to their production areas.
Giresun Quality:hazelnuts are round-shaped, grow in Giresun and in certain districts of Trabzon. Premium quality hazelnuts are the worlds highest-quality.
Levant Quality:Production areas such as Levant Akçakoca, Levant Ordu, Levant Trabzon, and Levant Samsun, do contain generally more fat and are better in taste than the hazelnuts grown worldwide. Less fat content compared to the Giresun Quality hazelnuts.
Hazelnut production is made by the standards TS***4 for inshell hazelnuts, TS***5 for natural hazelnut kernels and TS***7 for processed hazelnut kernels.

Types of Hazelnuts:

Natural Hazelnut Kernels
Natural kernel with brown skin
Size: ***1 mm, ****3 mm, ****5 mm, ****6 mm or any caliber with **2 mm intervals from 9 mm to *6 mm.

Roasted Hazelnut Kernels
Natural hazelnut kernel is processed with heat, so the skin is peeled, and the hazelnut kernel takes it roasted form with 5% skin (or up to *0% skin upon request) and 0.**3% of the desired humidity level.
Size: ***1 mm, ****3 mm, ****5 mm or any calibre with **2 mm intervals from 9 mm**5 mm.

Roasted and Blanched Hazelnut Kernels
Natural hazelnut kernels are processed with heat, blanched, skin is peeled and the hazelnut kernel takes its roasted form with 5% skin and 0.**3% desired humidity level.
Size: ***1 mm, ****3 mm, ****5 mm or any caliber with  **2 mm intervals from 9 mm *5 mm.

Natural or blanched hazelnut kernels tiny sliced lengthwise with brown skin, and **6% humidity.
Size: 0.**1 mm, 0.**1.2 mm, **1.2 mm, **1.5 mm.

Diced Hazelnuts
Natural/roasted/blanched hazelnut kernels are produced by cutting or crushing into smaller pieces.
Size: Intervals from ***2 mm or any caliber with **4 mm, **3 mm, **4 mm, **5 mm, **8 mm, ***1 mm, ***1 mm and ***0 mm.
