Of this approximately *5 per cent is sent to landfill, eight per cent incinerated and seven per cent recycled Plastic recycling is an excellent method of conserving the environment as well as saving energy; 1 recycled plastic bottle alone could power a **-watt light bulb for up to 3 hours. The seven types of plastic resins can be recycled and used to make a wide variety of products. PET is recycled into bottles, carpets, clothing, and car parts. HDPE is recycled and used to produce bags, plastic lumber, and agricultural pipes. Recycled LDPE is recycled to manufacture bags, plastic lumber, and compost bins. The main markets centre on two product areas: • Plastic Film • Plastic Bottle.
