The
polarization probe is used where an appreciable voltage drop
(IR-drop) in the soil is present. This is due to the flow of
current in interconnected, protected pipelines or objects or
due to galvanic currents, because of contacts between
steel/concrete and steel/soil in industrial
plants. The probe is buried close to a pipeline, in the same soil and connected to a test station. Our KT-JT polarization probes could effectively eliminate potential error resulting from IR-drop and stray current in the soil, so that the protection potential of the protected structures can be accurately detected. It will be put into a cotton bag with backfills if buried underground.
