Process                                                                                                                           

Polyurethane Casting or vacuum casting is a low volume production method that produces parts from a Polyurethane plastic material for prototyping purposes.



The method uses cast silicone molds made as follows: a master model(that typically originates from stereolithography or selective laser sintering) is carefully prepared to ensure a high quality finish to the surface and the definition of the parting planes. Silicone is cast around the master, partially under vacuum in order to avoid air bubbles being trapped in between the master and silicone. After curing, the mold is cut according to the parting planes and the master is removed, leaving a cavity to make copies. The flexibility of the silicone allows limited undercuts, which might avoid sliders or additional parting planes

Application                                                                                                                     

Cast Urethanes are ideal for marketing samples, test prototypes, or other situations where ****0 pieces are required, but time and money do not allow a prototype injection-molded tool to be produced.

Materials                                                                                                                           

We use materials which have material properties similar to production-like plastics.These materials are similar to ABS/PC/PMMA/Nylon/Rubber. For the rubber parts we can make hardness from *5A to *0A.
