***6 In the third quarter, the largest gravel and sand quarry in
Lithuania was started in Trakai district. The Lithuanian Geological
Survey has investigated and approved an area of *5.7 ha. It
contains about *2.*4 million. M3 gravel sand resources. At present,
*1.2 hectares are ready for use. Planned further expansion to **3.9
hectares, approved by about *6 mln. M3 gravel and sand
resources.
The total projected quarry area is about **4 ha. The average depth
of the resources is about *3 meters. It is estimated that the whole
territory will have about *9 million. M3 gravel and sand
resources.
UAB Metasta sells these products not only in Lithuania, but
also supplies to Klaipeda port, from which materials can be
exported to other countries across the Baltic Sea.
