SiC is made of silica sand, coke,
wood and other raw materials by resistance furnace smelting at high
temperature. Now SiC produced by Chinas industry can be divided
into black SiC and green SiC which are mainly used in four big
fields: functional ceramics, refractories, abrasives and
metallurgical raw materials. SiC is suitable for cupola and
electric furnace. It is widely used in foundry and steel industry
as deoxidizer and also play a role of increasing carbon and silicon
as well as heating up.
