Product Description

Silicon carbide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula SiC, which exists in the form of the rare mineral moissanite in nature.
In the ***0s, Edward Goodrich Acheson, an American, invented the synthesis process of silicon carbide, which was made by smelting quartz sand, petroleum coke, coal coke and other raw materials in a resistance furnace at high temperature.
There are two types of silicon carbide produced in industrial production, black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide, both of which are hexagonal crystals. Generally, green silicon carbide is used as the raw material for silicon carbide technical ceramics.
Silicon carbide raw materials are crushed, ground and graded to obtain SiC particles with uniform particle size distribution. Then SiC particles are mixed with sintering additives and temporary adhesive and pressed into blank, which are sintered at high temperatures to form silicon carbide ceramic materials.
