Briquettes are made froma carefully selected wheat straw which has been chopped, dust extracted and treated to offer horses a hygienic, economic and soft alternative to conventional bedding. Straw briquettes are a new concept in equine bedding offering a super absorbent, easy-to-muck-out and highly biodegradable chopped straw alternative to shavings and other bedding products.The raw material is chopped in to small fibers, steamed and then compressed in to a briquette. The briquettes break down at different rates as your horse moves on them, increasing in volume over several hours and ultimately providing a sturdy, comfortable base which is capable of absorbing up to five times its own weight in liquid. Muck doesnt stick to the bedding and wet patches are so minimal that waste will be significantly reduced meaning your muck heap will shrink in size and the muck that is there will rot down.
