Grain characteristics and classification

Jumbo: the grains are larger in shell sold for consumption as a snack. It is usually roasted and salted to enhance the flavor.

Large: usually used medium-sized grains are shelled by machine. Sold the nuggetfor use in food production.

Small: smaller grains are marketed as food for birds and animals.
