A 2.*5" x 4.*0" x 1" unit that is portable and powered by a 9 volt battery. The Belfry Bat Detector is a joy to use and share with others and has a small speaker for group listening. Unit has a range of *5 to **0 feet depending on terrain and species of bat. This detector has a strong advantage over heterodyne type detectors in that it requires NO TUNING. Simply turn the unit on, point it in the general direction of where the bats are and sit back and listen. The Belfry Bat Detector has it all: * Complete conversion of ALL bat echolocation frequencies. NO TUNING REQUIRED. No missed bat calls because you are "tuning the dial." * Bat calls are heard clearly through an internal speaker. * 1/8 inch (3.5 millimeter) standard female mono audio output jack just above and to the left of speaker (not pictured) allows the recording of bat calls on a tape recorder or Personal Computer with soundcard. * All completed units are field tested on our local bats (May through September) and are guaranteed.
