Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is a novel tester used for noninvasive examination of intracranial & extracranial blood vessel pathological changes. It uses the low-frequency-pulse-type ultrasonic wave to penetrate skull thin spot and the natural bone hole to directly obtain the blood stream signal of brain bottom trunk. It can be used to evaluate blood flow rate & direction and elasticity & conformability of blood vessel wall, peripheral resistance of brain blood vessel and so on. Today, TCD is used as a compulsory equipment for diagnosticating cerebrovascular diseases.
