This is a custom-made remote control with 4 power settings, multiple channels and various channel types such as On-Off Momentary, Latching, Delay-On, Delay-Off or other more complex designs, including multiple receivers*.

This type of remote control offers maximum forest foliage penetration, in areas where most other remote control systems fail to work, and where GSM based remote controls also fail to work due to poor signal coverage or non existent cell phone coverage.

Irrigation and pump control comes with many problems and challenges, particularly it is about saving time by not having to drive to a specific far away field to switch a water valve, and also by the need to save water. Especially in countries where irrigation water is in short supply. The biggest challenge is achieving maximum operational range in a partially obstructed environment.

While we cannot solve all these problems in a single system, it became quite apparent that the use of reliable electric water valves, together with a power source (*2 volts) available at the site, and a long range remote control, allows for the saving of time and irrigation water.

This family of remote controls operate on the **3Mhz frequency, and offers long range of operation, as long as 5.**6 km, even on the lower power settings! And this while using carefully tuned isotropical, non-directional antennas.

The transmitter is semi-portable, as it operates from the cigarette lighter outlet of a car (*2v).

Maximum transmitter power: 2.8Watts.

Antenna SWR: 1.2 or better.

We were able to remotely irrigate fields situated 6km away, as well as fields in shorter distances, ones that are heavily obstructed by thick tree foliage. Depending on the thickness of forest foliage, the range of all remote controls is reduced by a factor of 5 to about *0, so even a remote control with a line of sight range of *2km will only work over about **0meters in a heavily thick forest, at best, though this is the worst possible scenario.

In our irrigation projects we use small hydrolic *2v generators, rather than solar panels, these produce power directly by having them connected to the irrigation main pipe, as water flows the generator charges up a *2v battery. Careful design is needed, in order to implement this, because the system needs a smart charger to handle the power and manage the charging of the *2v battery, to ensure safety and long life of operation.

Different, more complex designs involving multiple receivers are also possible at request.

We can supply, test and put together hydroelectric generators and *2v chargers, but it will require further tests. Hydroelectric *2v generators are available on ebay, but further testing is needed to ensure long term reliability, especially in areas where water has high levels of salinity.

Other considerations:

Use of deep soil moisture sensors can further enhance water economy, without depriving plants of needed water.

In inclined fields, irrigation is always carried out in stages, because due to different heights water tends to have significantly different pressure, and even that can vary from time to time. Using different valves on the main water pipe, controlled by such a remote control, can help carry out irrigation in stages.

In some cases, there may be the need for a water-measurement device, as well for water pressure sensors. Further research is needed in such cases. The objective is one and the same, that is to evenly distribute water throughout the field, and to keep water usage to the minimum necessary.
