Vision System Working for Injection

Presentation The goal of this vision system is to determine automatically the development of the morphological parameters of the jets during an injection. It then characterizes these parameters in terms of : penetration (jet length), opening angle, angle between the jets, jet volume. Study carried out in collaboration with the laboratory TSI (Jean Monnet University, Saint-Etienne), the laboratory LMFA (Ecole centrale de Lyon), And the P?e optique & vison (Saint-Etienne) Principle An electronic control module handles the synchronization between the injection and the visual recording. An image processing and measurement automation software allows acquisition of the morphological parameters of the jets and their development during the course of the injection with no user intervention. The results are given in graph or table form (average value, standard deviation, minimum-maximum). All the instantaneous values are available. System structure The complete system (chamber + camera + software) analyses the injector jets for either petrol or diesel. The device is made up of a pressure chamber fitted with five visualization portholes. A fog extraction system ensures automatic cleaning of the enclosed area. The lighting is provided by a continuous white light. Image capture is handled by an intensified camera allowing instantaneous visual recording (**0ns). An injection bench is necessary to supply the pressure.
